BREAST AUGMENTATION (MAMMAPLASTY) |
|
This operation increases the
dimension of the breast. The size of the breast is decided with
the patient, in accordance to the constitutional structure.
After the selection of the size and form, the mammary prostheses
are set under or above the pectoral muscle, according to the
indications.
Prosthesis are preferably inserted under the muscle,
in order to not interfere with the mammary gland, maintaining
breast normal sensibility and functionality. The choice of the
type of prosthesis will be discussed with the patient during the
visit.
The line of incision is almost invisible.
It is
immediately possible to appreciate the result of the operation.
Once the tissues model and relax round the prosthesis, the
results
will be absolutely gratifying.
 Anesthesia
and Hospitalization |

This operation can be performed both in general anesthesia and
in local anesthesia with sedation. It that lasts from one to two
hours.
It is usually performed in day-hospital, or if necessary,
with an over night stay.

Convalescence |

|
The day after the operation, when the patient
moves the arms a sense of tension to the breast can be felt.
This feeling quickly gets better after 48 hours.
For a few days
the breast will be swollen, tense and the patient will present
some ecchimosys (bruises). It is advisable to foresee a period
of 7 days away from work.
After three weeks the patient can
start again light sport activity, but should avoid for other three weeks, intense exercises or activities. It
is possible to drive the car, generally after two weeks.
For
three weeks the patient will bring a particular recommended
contenitive bra.
