The chronological aging of the skin
is the result of the interaction of biological, biochemical and
molecular events marked by the genetic code of each individual.
Wrinkles represent the most evident sign of cutaneous atrophy:
they are the consequence of the damage to the collagene and the
elastic tissues.
In the course of time, due to tone and
elasticity alterations, the skin is not able to stretch any
more; the first depressions remain, that progressively get worse.
Wrinkles are classified in the following types:
linear
wrinkles: they are correlated to facial movements; Initially
reversable, they are more frequent in the female sex. They are
mainly localized in the periocular area, infraocular (or from
wrinkling), perilabial (vertical on the superior lip or around
the mouth), transversal on the forehead (linked to the emotions,
particularly to anxiety);
wrinkles gli fiche: linked to
increased accentuation of the normal cutaneous texture. They
mostly appear on the cheeks;
wrinkles: they are caused by
prolonged positions assumed by the face (for istance that of the
sleeping position);
folds nose-geniene: deep incisions
situated between the external contour of the mouth and the wings
of the nose, delimited by the orbicolar muscles of the mouth and
buccinatori.
